Honorable David A. White (Ret.)
Since 2002, Hon. David A. White (Ret.) has mediated and arbitrated thousands of complex commercial and other civil cases. He honed his skills as a mediator and manager of complex and mass tort litigation as a Delaware Superior Court Commissioner from 2001 to 2007. Commissioner White continued to develop his ADR skills at McCarter & English, where he was Office Managing Partner of the Delaware Office until 2021. He then served for nearly 4 years as Chief Disciplinary Counsel to the Delaware Supreme Court before returning to the ADR space with Delaware ADR in 2024.
Commissioner White is highly regarded for his patience and equanimity, as well as his ability to exert a calming influence in even the most charged scenarios. His many years of responsibility in high-stakes and often pressured situations make him uniquely positioned to serve clients’ needs as a mediator, arbitrator, and court-appointed Special Magistrate/Discovery Facilitator.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to ADR in Delaware, Commissioner White was awarded the Delaware State Bar Association's Kimmel/Thynge Award in 2021. In December 2024, Commissioner White received the prestigious Delaware State Bar Association's Daniel L. Herrmann Professional Conduct Award. Commissioner White is a member of American Arbitration Association’s Commercial Roster of Arbitrators and Mediators, a Fellow of the American College of Trial Mediators, and a Member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals. He is the immediate past President of the Delaware State Bar Association (2025-2026).
